Welcome Friends!
Today I’m sharing my recipe for Vegan Chocolate Mousse. This dessert is amazing and so fast to make! It’s so light and fluffy, but still very decadent with vegan chocolate. I use a special ingredient, silken tofu, that is the reason that the dish has its amazing texture. Now, don’t be worried, the only thing you will taste in this vegan dessert is rich chocolate.
It really is the perfect end to your date night at home meal!
I’m drooling just telling you about it!
February Theme
The theme throughout February on my blog is date night at home! I’m going to be sharing delicious vegan date night recipes for dishes that you can make for your boo, or yourself – sometimes we’re our very best Valentine, am I right!?
The pressure to have an amazing Valentine’s day can be quite a lot. I love to take some of that pressure away by enjoying a nice Valentine’s date night at home. It feels casual, but cooking a meal with your significant other can be very relaxing and romantic. A combination I’m here for!
Valentine’s Date Night Idea
Instead of going out for Valentine’s day I have a great date night at home idea for you! I love cooking with my husband. It mostly consists of me doing everything and him stirring the food when I remind him, but we both enjoy just being together. We catch up on the day and decompress while preparing a delicious, nourishing meal.
We like to turn these nights into a fun and romantic evening by opening a bottle of vegan wine (check out Barnivore for vegan wine options) and listening to some relaxing music. We help each other prep and cook the meal and then we sit down and enjoy it together, no distractions from phones or anything else. You can even add candles to make it extra romantic.
Vegan Chocolate Mousse
Perfectly light, airy vegan chocolate mousse is such a perfect Valentine’s day dessert. Romantic date night dinners often consist of pasta, bread or other delicious carb friendly foods. A nice light but satisfying dessert is the perfect way to end your meal!
Making the chocolate mousse could not be easier! The process simply involves melting down some vegan chocolate and blending it with silken tofu and the rest of the ingredients. That’s it!
You then get to lick the blender and spoon clean of chocolate while you wait for your mousse to set in the fridge. And it sets really quick… no overnight dessert is coming from me!
Recipe
This vegan chocolate mousse recipe has amazing deep, rich chocolate flavor, but it’s perfectly light and airy so it won’t weigh you down. The steps to make the mousse couldn’t be easier. You just need a microwave (or double boiler stovetop method) to melt the chocolate and then you whiz it up in the blender with the rest of the ingredients.
Then you just set it in the fridge and prepare your dinner. By the time you’re ready for dessert, your chocolate mousse will be perfectly set and ready for eating!
You can enjoy this mousse as is or you can top it with fresh berries, mint or even vegan whipped topping. I love So Delicious Cocowhip or Trader Joe’s Vegan Coconut Whipped Topping (the spray kind)!
I hope that you make this dessert for you and a loved one – or even just for yourself cause you’re your best Valentine!
Without further ado, let’s get into this recipe!
